Strong ACO presence at the World Cup in Brazil
As the host of the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, Brazil has invested a great deal in stadiums and infrastructure, to provide participants and spectators with the highest levels of comfort and safety.
ACO – a very experienced partner for sports ground construction – has installed several thousands of metres of drainage channels on site. In the Arena Corinthians in São Paulo alone – one of the most up-to-date stadiums in the world, and the venue for the opening game of the 2014 World Cup – ACO has installed more than 1900 metres of drainage channels.
As part of the complete stadium refurbishment, drainage channels made of polymer concrete were also installed in the paved area surrounding the famous Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro where the final of the World Cup will take place. This corrosion-resistance material is completely impervious to the salty Atlantic Ocean air in Rio de Janeiro, so that the hydraulic efficiency and good looks are guaranteed to remain unchanged for very many years.
ACO is not only present at the opening and closing matches: it has also supplied modern surface drainage solutions for three other 2014 World Cup stadiums in Brazil –Arena Patanal (Cuiabá), Arena Pernambuco (Recife), and Estadio Castelão (Fortaleza).
ACO has been represented in Brazil by a sales & marketing company since 2011, and has only recently expanded its presence further with a new office and a large production and storage building.
