On December 10, 1946, Severin Ahlmann registers his own company with the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Kiel. The “Severin Ahlmann-Betonindustrie (SAB)” initially specializes in concrete products for the construction sector. In addition to cement roof tiles, building materials and products for civil engineering are manufactured. Ahlmann soon adds Carlshütte products made of artificial stone (marble grain) to its range and manufactures sanitary products. Severin Ahlmann's mother Käte Ahlmann writes in a letter to a friend on December 17, 1946: “You can see the new company on this sheet. May it be happy!”
